ELEVATE meeting
On 28 - 29 June 2022, the Innovative Light Electric Vehicles for Active and Digital Travel (ELEVATE) team had their first in-person meeting at the SoGE. The gathering featured seven team members from the universities of Leeds, Oxford, and Brighton.
The team started the day with a city tour using the publicly-available Voi e-scooters, exploring potential study areas and visiting a nearby electric micromobility shop. Then, the team discussed the research framework, contexts, landscapes, and practicalities of the project and identified potential obstacles, particularly those related to the proposed e-micromobility trials. The day ended with identifying the next steps and tasks to be fulfilled during the following months.
The ELEVATE project explores the role of electric micromobility modes - such as e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-cargo bikes - in reducing transport-related energy demand and emissions while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. The project will conduct micromobility trials in the cities of Oxford, Leeds, and Brighton.
